The african ginat land snail is a large shell-bearing invertebrate that feeds on both plant and animal substrates. It is a hermaphrodite but practices sexual reproduction. It is believed to be a native of West Africa and habits the rainforest zones of the sub-region. Snail meat is a delicacy among several rural African dwellers. The meat otherwise called congo meat is low in fat and cholesterol, but rich in protein and is thus recommended for people with cardiac illness.
